Qigong Shifu 

    Daju Huihai Seifu Suzanne Friedman

Shifu (Master) Daju Suzanne Friedman is an acupuncturist, herbalist, and doctor of medical qigong therapy. She received her doctorate degree in Medical Qigong Oncology from the Beijing Western District Medical Qigong Science and TCM Research Institute in Beijing, China.

Shifu Friedman is the first female & non-Chinese to be inducted into her teacher's Daoist family lineage as a Qigong and Neidan (Inner Alchemy) master.  She is certified by Master Xu Mingtang of the Kundawell Institute in Beijing as a teacher of Zhongyuan Qigong, and by Dr. Xu Hongtao of the Xiyuan Hospital in Beijing to teach Guigen Qigong.

Shifu Friedman learned Shaolin Eight Brocades Zen Qigong from Master Shi Yong Yao, a 33rd generation Shaolin Monk and hard qigong instructor at the Shaolin Temple in China.  She is a columnist for Qi: The Journal of Traditional Eastern Health & Fitness, and the author of three books on qigong, including the popular Heal Yourself with Qigong.

Shifu Friedman is the Chair of the Medical Qigong Science Department at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, California, where she runs their medical qigong therapy certification program.  She is also the founder and director of the Yangsheng Center for Qigong at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California, which offers qigong teacher training and certification.

Following the Chinese Literati tradition of self-cultivation, Shifu Friedman is an award-winning haiku poet.  She also plays the shakuhachi (Japanese Zen bamboo flute) as a meditative tool.
