Anjo Shishin Lizzy Dahl Williams


Anjo was ordained a priest on June 21, 2013, Mandala Day, at Dai Bosatsu Zendo in New York with her friend Taiso Hannya Byran Bartow Roshi as her witness.  

Anjo met her teacher Jun Po Denis Kelly Roshi in Boulder, Colorado, on the 3rd of September, 2010.  She took Jukai in the Hollow Bones Lineage under Jun Po Roshi at the Integral Zendo Denver on January 2, 2011.  She was mentored by Doshin Hannya Michael Nelson, Roshi of Integral Zen Denver, as a Mondo Zen facilitator.  

Anjo studies nondual Yoga: Philosophy, Art and Sacred Poetry. She traveled to India on a non-dual Tantric yoga pilgrimage over the New Year in 2013 with her friend Sanskrit scholar Christopher Hareesh Wallis. She practices and teaches Yoga and Meditation in the Shambhava tradition at the Eldorado Yoga Ashram in Eldorado Springs, Colorado. 

Anjo joined David Whyte, poet, author and philosopher, on pilgrimage in Ireland, during the summer of 2014. This unique experience of celtic culture, both traditional and emerging, brought her to ground in the country of her strong Irish mother.

Anjo studied painting and drawing at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. She has a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education, and she is a certified Montessori teacher.

Anjo is a householder practitioner and mother. She holds space for Zazen and Mondo Zen practices at The Dahl House Zendo at her home in Boulder, Colorado (1188 Forest Ave, Boulder, CO 80304, 303-818-3594). She practices traditional Zen Koans with Shishin Wick Roshi and is a member of Great Mountain Zen Center. She is a representative on an interfaith board at Flatiorns Habitat for Humanity serving Boulder County. And she is an outreach volunteer at Attention Homes, a youth homeless shelter, serving Boulder County.

Anjo is committed to bringing into being a harmonious and loving world through the practice of meditation.
